Ceylon Fishing Industries Ltd
Ceylon Fishing Industries Limited (CFI Ltd.) registered in the General Register of Enterprises of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (No. PB 4777) and it is incorporated under the companies Act. No.7 of 2007. CFI Ltd. aims to become the market leader in fishing industry and its related processes, thus making Sri Lanka self-‐sufficient as well as becoming an active player in the Export as regards the supply of fishing products. Sri Lanka will benefit doubly from the project by CFI Ltd.: first from the economic point of view, bringing jobs and economic growth of national GDP, second, however, contributes to the development of the National Fishing Industry, where the Sinhalese government, with special attention, through incentives and initiatives of various kinds, has implemented since 2005 for the country's economic recovery.

Currently CFI would wish to invest to set up a Fish Processing, Canning, and Fish Meal Plant by the site of its existing low - level facilities in Oluvil harbour Moreover, CFI will temporarily undertake on lease basis the Oluvil Fish processing plant including other facilities that will support CFI and also to settle all the unpaid loans with interest obtain for building the Fishing Industry, which was signed by the Nordea Bank and Sri Lanka Government. CFI guarantees to pay back the Loan by its own revenue that rapidly generate Income without depending on any sectors in Sri Lanka, and reduce the burden of our Government and provide the uncountable resources to the citizens belonging to the Democratic Socialist Re-Public of Sri Lanka.
Currently our Fisheries Sector in Sri Lanka does provide a consistent share to the GDP, without depending in Commercial or Industrial Level. The Fisheries sector in Sri Lanka is also known as one of the sub-sector and less priority is given to this sector. Currently the Fishing communities do sacrifice their life, using boats, which are 16 to 18meters in length, with fishing gears of long line and Gillnets. These boats are not capable, even dangerous for long-term fishing in the Deep Sea.
